A New Zealand-bred champion Group I winner in three countries has been retired.
Aerovelocity won Group I races in Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore for trainer Paul O'Sullivan and has run his last race.
The eight-year-old son of Pins was bred in partnership by Nelson Schick and Steve Till and purchased by O'Sullivan at the 2010 NZB Premier Sale for $NZ120,000.
He won his only start in New Zealand over 1300m at Awapuni in 2012 as Naisoso Warrior before being transferred to Hong Kong where he had a name change.
The winner of 12 of his 25 starts, his feature wins included two runnings of the Hong Kong International Sprint in 2014 and 2016, the 2015 Group I Takamatsunomiya Kinen at Chukyo and the 2015 Group I Krisflyer International Sprint at Kranji.
He was ridden to victory in all 11 of his Hong Kong wins for owner Daniel Yeung Ngai by Zac Purton and was named Champion Hong Kong Sprinter in 2014.
A recurrence of an injury prevented Aerovelocity from starting in the Group I Chairman's Sprint Prize on May 7.
He last raced when finishing eighth in the Group II Centenary Sprint Cup at Sha Tin on January 30.
