An
eye-catching maiden winner at Kembla last month, three year-old So You Think
filly Fournette made it back to back wins when saluting at Canterbury on
Wednesday.
Prepared by Gerald Ryan, Fournette did best in a thrilling finish to claim a
short half head win in the 1550 metre contest.
She travelled wide in the early stages for Kerrin McEvoy before being allowed to
stride forward coming to the turn and dug deep when it counted.
Fournette has now won twice and never finished further back than fourth in five
starts earning nearly $50,000 in prizemoney.
Not offered at auction, Fournette is the third winner from Group III placed US
Import I Promise, whose current yearling, a colt by Pierro, made $75,000 at the
Magic Millions.
With seasonal earnings topping $3million, So You Think has done a fine job with
his oldest progeny about to turn four and stands at Coolmore this spring at a
fee of $60,500.
