$1,050,000 for I Am Invincible Mare

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 31
The worth of Yarraman Park's gun sire I Am Invincible was highlighted in a new way at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on Wednesday.

The second highest priced offering of the session was stakes-placed Comprende, who was consigned by Willow Park as agent and fetched $1,050,000 to the bid of Widden Stud/ David Lucas.

Comprende is no stranger to the Magic Millions sale ring having been sold as a yearling in 2014 at the Gold Coast by Yarraman Park for $440,000.

She was the most expensive yearling sired by I Am Invincible from his second crop and the stunning good looks she had as a yearling have made her a highly desirable broodmare.

A half-sister to Group III winners Excites Zelady and Zelady's Night Out, Comprende won twice on the track and was twice stakes-placed including a third in the Group III SAJC Schweppervescence Stakes.

She was importantly offered in foal to red hot sire Snitzel, putting the icing on the cake.

The third highest priced mare on Wednesday was Group I producer Breccia, who was offered by Bell View Park Stud in foal to I Am Invincible's dual Group I winning son Brazen Beau, who topped the weanling sales averages last week.

A daughter of Fastnet Rock, Breccia made $950,000 when snapped up by Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock.

I Am Invincible has had a benchmark year siring the winners of over $10 million and 11 stakes-winners with his service fee set for this spring at $110,000.

With his influence now poised to extend to his broodmare daughters and sire sons, 12 year-old I Am Invincible has moved to a new and exciting stage of his career.
