Clearly
Innocent gave his National Broodmare Sale bound half sister a timely boost when
he streaked to victory in today's Group One Kingsford Smith Cup (1300m) at
Eagle Farm.
In a powerful performance, Clearly Innocent sent his earnings soaring past $1.5
million when he beat a classy field in the Group One feature by three lengths.
It is the second straight stakes success for the Kris Lees trained gelding
since the catalogue was printed for the 2017 Magic Millions National Broodmare
Sale.
His half sister Champagne Kisses, a daughter of Onemorenomore, has like her
famous half brother also won twice since being catalogued as Lot 676 for the
Gold Coast based auction.
Champagne Kisses will be presented by JD Thoroughbreds, and will arrive at the
Bundall Sales Complex tomorrow and will now be housed in the Chester Barn. She
will be available for inspection from around lunch time on Sunday.
Being one of hundreds of quality race fillies and mares in the sale, Champagne
Kisses will go under the hammer on Tuesday, on Day One of the National
Broodmare Sale.
Also set to go under the hammer on the same day is today's weight-for-age Group
Three Lord Mayor's Cup winner Col 'n' Lil.
A member of the in form Toowoomba stables of Ben Currie, Col 'n' Lil showed
great fight in the home straight to hold out her rivals for a gutsy win.
It was the second stakes win this preparation for the good looking grey
daughter of Bradbury's Luck.
Currie was impressed with the win and said it would be an emotional time when
the mare heads to the sale, but he hoped if she was sold she would return to
the stables to race before taking up stud duties.
A gallant third placegetter in the same race was Elle Lou, a proven group
winning daughter of Snitzel, another mare to go under the hammer on the same
day.
A winner of about $500,000, Elle Lou is a member of the Attunga Stud draft and
is Lot 697.
Another lot to go under the hammer on Tuesday is Gevuina (Lot 710), a member of
a quality packed draft from Godolphin.
A lightly raced breeding prospect by Commands, Gevuina is a half sister to
Allergic, an impressive winner of the listed WJ McKell Cup (2400m) at Randwick
on Saturday.
A half brother by Bernardini to Allergic (ex Cajou) is being prepared by Aquis
Farm for the National Yearling Sale (June 6-8).
Catalogued as Lot 2001, the colt will go under the hammer during the latter
stages of the first day of the yearling sale.
Kaiser Franz scored a breakthrough win in today's Group Three Premier's Cup at
Eagle Farm in a further boost to a proven Group One winner set for the National
Broodmare Sale.
Multiple Group One winner and NZ's Champion Middle Distance Horse of 2014-15,
Soriano (Lot 881) is a full sister to Kaiser Franz.
A member of the Dormello Stud draft, Soriano has produced one foal and will be
offered believed in foal to star New Zealand sire Tavistock.
Both Soriano and Kaiser Franz are by Savabeel, a Cox Plate winning Magic
Millions graduate.
The Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale will be held from May 30 to June 2
with a great range of lots across all budgets to go under the hammer. To view
