He may be almost 15 years young, but well known gelding Eremein came through a tough battle of colic like the champion he is.
The winner of over 4 million dollars and five Group 1 races was recently found with a twisted bowel in his paddock, but after a quick diagnosis from Scone Equine Hospital vet David O'Meara, Eremein was swiftly moved to surgery where Dr Troy Butt and his team performed colic surgery to save the horse's life.
Eremein has since recovered well in Clovelly Hospital and will no doubt continue to enjoy his well-earned retirement back in his paddock.
It is a wonderful credit to the White family of Robrick Lodge for paying back to a horse that gave them so much through his career.

Trained by Alan Denham, Eremein was a smart two year-old that blossomed at three to win the Group I STC Rosehill Guineas and then the AJC Derby. He returned at four to dominate the 2006 Sydney Autumn Carnival winning the Group I STC Ranvet Stakes and The BMW, before coming to Randwick to win the AJC Queen Elizabeth Stakes. - story Kriston Harris
