Shane McGrath Joins the Aquis Team

Media Release - Monday May 22
Aquis Farm is pleased to announce the appointment of Shane McGrath to the newly created role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Aquis Farm CEO Justin Fung said; "We have great aspirations for the next three years and in Shane, we feel we have identified a person with the necessary expertise, experience and ambition to take our operation through the next stages of its development. I am thrilled that Shane has decided to join Aquis Farm."

Shane McGrath has been a well-established figure in the Australasian bloodstock industry for over 15 years having been General Manager of Victorian operation Eliza Park before most recently occupying the role of Bloodstock Sales Manager for Coolmore Australia.

Shane McGrathMcGrath said; "I am very excited to be joining Aquis Farm. I am hugely grateful to Tom Magnier and the team at Coolmore for the opportunities that I was afforded in my time there. Coolmore is an industry leader globally and one cannot help but to learn when part of such a professional and experienced outfit. However, I was inspired by the vision for the future that Justin outlined to me and his obvious passion for the industry. The opportunity to be part of the operation that is being built by Aquis Farm was just too good to refuse."

Justin Fung added; "The recent establishment of a Hunter Valley base for Aquis Farm at Emirates Park is a significant step for our operation and provides us with a foothold in the heartland of Australian thoroughbred breeding. We have chosen to supplement the roster of established proven sires at Emirates Park in Al Maher, Artie Schiller and Dream Ahead with a pair of gifted young sire prospects in Divine Prophet and Kiss And Make Up to create a balanced offering of quality sires for breeders.

"We have been overwhelmed by the support that we have received in our infancy at Canungra. Aquis Farm is firmly committed to the Queensland breeding industry and we feel that our incentive programme is a good complement to our enticing roster of Queensland-based stallions.

"We are very much looking forward to the upcoming Magic Millions National Sale on the Gold Coast where our team will be looking to assist Queensland and interstate breeders with their mating plans for the 2017 season," concluded Fung.
