Curragh Winner for Declaration of War

Tara Madgwick - Monday May 15
Coolmore shuttler Declaration of War (USA) will have his first Australian runners next season and sired his second winner overnight at The Curragh in Ireland with a stylish win for two year-old filly Actress.

Declaration of WarSecond on debut at Naas on May 1, she was sent off a warm favourite for what looked a typically classy Curragh maiden.

The Aidaon O'Brien trained filly forged clear to win the five furlong maiden by three quarters of a length under Donnacha O'Brien.

"Probably six furlongs would suit her even better but the race was here for her and she's done it very nicely," said O'Brien.

"I suppose Royal Ascot would have to be on the cards now."

From US Group II winner Nasty Storm, Actress is the second winner for War Front's Group I winning son Declaration of War, who stood for two seasons at Coolmore Australia.
