New Invincible Spirit Son for Chatswood

Media Release - Friday May 12
The Invincible Spirit sire-line is returning to Chatswood Stud - the same stud that introduced the Champion Sire to Australia back in 2003, producing I Am Invincible.

AjayaInvincible Spirit's precocious son, AJAYA will be shuttling from Ireland's renowned Rathbarry Stud to Chatswood Stud for 2017.

Ajaya was a distinctive 2YO of his generation, featuring a win in the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes (on firm ground), defeating subsequent Group 1 winner, Ribchester, a close 2nd by a head in the Group 2 Prix Robert Papin and a bold 4th in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes behind multiple Group 1 winner, Shalaa.

As a 2YO, Ajaya earned a Timeform rating of 116, higher than that of Cable Bay (112), Zebedee (111) and his own sire Invincible Spirit (112).

His trainer, William Haggas was full of praise upon his retirement, "AJAYA was a high class two year old blessed with bags of speed and a good temperament. His performance in the Gimcrack was a top-class one, and he loved fast ground. He is a thoroughly likeable colt who thrived on racing."

Watch Ajaya win the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes.

Studmaster Greg Willis is eager to watch Ajaya follow in his sires footsteps, "Ajaya is the right shuttle stallion to bring to Australia. He loved firm tracks, Redoute's Choice is in his female family and of course Ajaya will take his place in the same barn that his sire, Invincible Spirit did when he stood here.

"He is serving quality mares in his first Northern Hemisphere season in Ireland where some astute breeder's have noted his uncanny resemblance to his sire. I couldn't be more confident he will make it as a sire in Australia. We will be supporting him very well."

Ajaya retired sound after 8 runs and boasts an impressive pedigree from the family of Bated Breath, Cityscape and Redoute's Choice. Ajaya is the first foal out of the unraced mare, Nessina. She is by Hennessy, a successful dam-sire in Australia of Group 1 Thousand Guineas winner Irish Lights, Krupt, Fast 'n' rocking, Zululand etc.

In the U.K., Ajaya stands at a higher fee than Zebedee and Cable Bay, however this will not be the case for Australian breeders.

Ajaya will stand at a fee of $13,200 including GST.

Chatswood Stud have also announced an unchanged fee for Reward For Effort of $16,500 inc GST.

This comes after a hugely successful season for the popular sire. He has sired more 2YO and 3YO winners than any other sire in Victoria and has also had his fair share of Stakes Horses. Brugal Reward has won the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes, the undefeated run of Desert Lashes culminated in a dominant win in the Redelva Stakes, Gold Symphony is a last start Listed winner along with three other Stakes placegetters for the season, Sheriff John Stone, Tuff Bickie and Dalradian.

Anacheeva will stand at an unchanged fee of $6,600 inc GST.

The spectacularly bred Anacheeva is now gaining plenty of momentum as a sire. Ana Royale is a legitimate Group 1 horse after her enormous run for 3rd in the Australasian Oaks. Nacho Libre also looks like a very promising staying prospect in Sydney after winning his last two starts and Southern Man's debut win in Singapore was dominant.

These announcements come after the news of All American's relocation to Chatswood, standing at a fee of $13,200 inc GST.

The Group 1 winner/producer will provide the perfect out-cross for Danehill-line mares. The market has been very strong for All American's progeny, with yearling's averaging over $60,000 at the sales in Australia this year.

Ajaya: $13,200
All American: $13,200
Anacheeva: $6,600
Reward For Effort: $16,500

All prices inclusive of GST.
