Bruce Slade Appointed General Manager at Newgate

Media Release - Thursday May 4
Bruce Slade will take on the role of Newgate General Manager from 1 June 2017 replacing Sam Fairgray who is leaving the operation to head up leading Victorian Stud Woodside Park.

Newgate is extremely grateful to Sam for the input he has had into its growth and development over the last two years. Sam has done an incredible job and we look forward to working with him in the future, continuing the very close relationship that has been developed.

The outstanding work that Bruce Slade has done running Newgate's stallion business over the past few years along with his intimate knowledge of the thoroughbred industry, make him the ideal candidate to lead the business and continue its growth into the future.

"Bruce is one of the most talented people I have ever been fortunate enough to work with and I believe he will be a wonderful leader for Newgate going forward," said Newgate's founder and part owner Henry Field. "I believe exceptional people are the key to the success of exceptional businesses and Bruce is truly one of those people."

"I am very thankful to Sam for all he has done at Newgate in such an important part of our lifecycle. With talented key management, personnel and systems in place across all facets of our business I am certain it will be a seamless transition, and I could not be more confident about the future of Newgate with Bruce at the helm," said Field.
