Stabled beside Gr1 winner The Mission at the 2016 Magic Millions GC yearling sale, Kobayashi (I Am Invincible x Woodstock Hussey) claimed his first stakes win in the 2 year old Thoroughbred Club Cup at Caulfield on Saturday.
Bred by Ian Mc Cauley, Kobayashi (pictured above) was sold out of the same Magic Millions draft as The Mission for another value buy at $60,000. Trained by father and son combination Leon and Troy Corstens of Malua Racing and ridden by Ben Thompson, Kobayashi won impressively by three lengths.
Meanwhile at Morphettville 3 year old Fox Hall (Foxwedge x Val de Loire) became the first stakes winning colt for boom second year sire Foxwedge.
Bred by Jason Abrahams,Fox Hallwas sold at the William Inglis Easter Yearling Sales in Session 2 for $170,000. Purchased and trained by Tony McEvoy and ridden by Damien Thornton, Fox Hall proved to be too strong for his rivals in the Listed Nitschke Stakes.
