Golden Slipper Stakes hero Sepoy has a genuine contender for the fillies Classics in Europe with the John Gosden'-trained
Dabyah who flagged her 1000 Guineas credentials in the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
Last season
Dabyah broke her maiden at Newmarket when on debut before creating a huge impression when a nine lengths winner at Newbury in September.
She lost her unbeaten record when beaten a length when third in the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac at Chantilly the following month.
Ridden by Frankie Dettori in her seasonal debut in the Fred Darling Stakes,
Dabyah controlled the race throughout to defeat the Foxwedge filly Urban Fox by one and a quarter lengths with Invincible Spirit filly Promising back in third.
"We will look at either the French or English Guineas for sure and she will go for one of those two races, Gosden told Sporting Life.
"I am thrilled to win a Fred Darling and a Nell Gwyn (with
Daban) for Mr (Abdullah Saeed) Al Naboodah.
"
Daban has come out of her race well and as long as this girl is OK in the morning we can make bold plans.
"Frankie said she was perfect in front and that she pricked her ears and tootled along. She will come on for the race. She actually missed a couple of bits of work.
"We will see what the owner thinks, but the jockey would like to run
Daban at Newmarket and
Dabyah in France. If they are in good order that is the jockey's wish. She has run well in France before and they get more rain there, so there is likely to be a bit more give. He felt the other filly handled the dip (at Newmarket) well."
Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock,
Dabyah is the best of two winners out of the Machiavellian mare Samdaniya a three-quarter sister to Listed winner Urban castle (Street cry) and a half-sister to the dam of Group III winner Queen's Best (King's Best) the dam of Group I Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf winner Queen's Trust (Dansili).
While he is struggling to gain traction in Australia, Sepoy is also the sire of another European Classic contender in
Unforgetable Filly who finished runner-up in the Group III Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket on Wednesday.
