She
wasn't the best winner in Australia on Saturday, but Miss Vista was certainly
the flashiest.
The Apache Cat lookalike was having her first run back from a lengthy spell for
the George Osborne stable and returned a winner with Linda Meech in the saddle.
With two recent trial wins under her belt, Miss Vista led all the way and found
the line strongly to win the 1100 metre dash by a long neck.
She's been an amazing looking horse since the day she was born and the Breednet
Favourite Foal for 2012 now has the overall record of four wins from five
starts with prizemoney of $146,500,
Retained to race by her breeder Dick Karreman of New Zealand based The Oaks
Stud, Miss Vista was foaled here in Australia at his Victorian property
Glenfern Park Stud.
By Queensland's favourite son Show a Heart, she is the first winner for Cape
Tycoon, a placed Cape Cross (IRE) mare from the family of Group III winner Sam
Sung a Song. Cape Tycoon produced consecutive colts by Fighting Sun in the past
two years and will foal this spring to Show a Heart.
Miss Vista has lit up social media and developed a cult following thanks to her
eye-catching looks, but her ability may well make her far more than a novelty.
Move over Apache Cat, Miss Vista has more wins in store.
