gavelhouse.com technology makes 2017 Microsoft Partner Awards finals

Media Release - Monday April 10
Gavelhouse technology partner Provoke is a finalist in the prestigious 2017 Microsoft Partner Awards in the Cloud Platform Partner of the Year category for their work on the innovative online thoroughbred auction site.

Aimed at recognising excellence in the IT sector where companies use Microsoft integrations, the awards have been a focal point of the industry for 10 years with the
winners to be announced on the 11th of April 2017 at a black tie event at The Langham in Auckland.

"The need for Kiwi businesses to transform digitally has never been more urgent, and the work our partner companies are doing across the country is taking New Zealand businesses and organisations on that journey in innovative and forward thinking ways," Microsoft New Zealand's newly appointed Director for Small and Midmarket Solutions, Phil Goldie commented.

Goldie's sentiments are exactly what drove the team at gavelhouse.com's parent company New Zealand Bloodstock to develop a quality online auction extension to service the New Zealand thoroughbred industry.

Solutions Architect Faranak Torabi has overseen the development of the site, providing the vital link between translating the often intricate details of the thoroughbred industry with the even more so complex online world and is thrilled with the end product.

"We initially scoped out the transformation of gavelhouse.com from a classified site to an online auction site in June 2015."

"Provoke being a one-stop-shop for the design of the website and development of the technology made for a streamlined build and with the results achieved to date, it's clear to see the project's been a success."

Overwhelmed with the site's growth in less than one year of operation, Sales and Marketing Manager Haylie Martin commented, "To have turned over more than $2.5 million worth of bloodstock and have launched in Australia within one year of business is well ahead of what we expected to achieve this early in the piece."

"It shows how quick New Zealanders are to embrace new technology and we're glad to be able to offer a cost-effective, timely way to move bloodstock on, especially domestically at the moment where every dollar counts for participants."

Provoke are finalists in for their work on gavelhouse.com is the Cloud Platform Partner of the Year category.

The winning nomination will have demonstrated innovation, competitive differentiation, and customer value while showcasing the benefit of developing or delivering applications and/or services based on key Microsoft platform technologies.

The current gavelhouse.com Australia auction is due to close from 7pm AEDT tonight (Monday 10 April).
