Consigned for sale by Newgate Farm, the Wandjina colt is a three-quarter brother to this season's Group I winner Russian Revival and is the sixth foal from Ballet D'Amour (USA), who is also the dam of Group III winner Turbo Lady.
The star colt was purchased by the China Horse Club for $335,000.
A standout on type and pedigree, he was bred by Mrs Belinda Bateman, who raced Wandjina with her late husband Dr Edmund Bateman.
The second highest priced weanling provided a great result for another of the Newgate first season sires with a Deep Field colt from Impetuous selling for $250,000.
Consigned by Newgate and purchased by Randwick Bloodstock, the colt is the second foal of young stakes-winning Fastnet Rock mare Impetuous.
A record breaking son of Northern Meteor, Deep Field also had a colt from Uncommon fetch $180,000 for Newhaven Park when snapped up by David Lucas Bloodstock as agent for Phoenix Thoroughbred.
Newgate Farm's third young gun Dissident also made a pleasing impression with four youngsters offered and sold at an average $132,500.
The top seller for Australian Horse of the Year Dissident was this colt from Djinda that made $180,000 for Fairhill Farm when purchased by Fernrigg Farm.
Other first season sires to achieve good sales included Darley's dual Group I winner Brazen Beau.
Three Bridges Thoroughbreds sold this filly from stakes-winner Dorf Command for $120,000 to Blue Sky Bloodstock.
Also Darley's Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting to Win, the sire of this lovely filly from stakes-placed The Other Harv that made $100,000 for Rothwell Park when bought by Baystone Farm.
