Spring is calling for promising Your Song filly Devolving
who became her sires seventh winner at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
Devolving had made a promising debut at her previous start when second to Sheika over 1100m at Warwick Farm on March 22
and with Sheika subsequently coming out of that maiden grade win to finish
third at Group III level in the Kindergarten Stakes at Randwick last Saturday,
the formline did look good.
And so it proved with Devolving running out a convincing winner with trainer
Ron Quinton intending to put her aside now until the spring racing.
"She
could end up a nice filly in the spring maybe," Quinton said.
"She's shown us good promise so I think if we look after her now, she'll
reward us on the other end as a three-year-old filly."
Devolving is by Your Song from the city winning mare
Calaluna (Mujahid (USA)) from the family of former top class juvenile Victory
Vein.
She was bought at last year's Inglis Classic Yearling Sale for $40,000 by Brett
Howard's Randwick Bloodstock Agency from the draft of Fairview Park Stud.
She
is the fourth winner from five to race for the mare who missed in seasons 2015
and 2016 and was sent to Press Statement last season.
