Hours after a trifecta in the Group 1 Inglis Sires Produce Stakes at Randwick, Snitzel landed himself another Group 1 winner in South Africa.

Heavenly Blue as a yearlingThe Mike De Kock trained Heavenly Blue scored his third win and first at Group I level when winning the SA Classic at Turffontein.

Heavenly Blue was three times stakes placed leading into the race and started second favourite after a pleasing third in the Group II Gauteng Guineas and produced a powerful finish under Callan Murray to win convincingly by nearly three lengths.

A $200,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Form Bloodstock from the Arrowfield draft, Heavenly Blue is the first foal of Simply Carina (USA), a winning El Prado daughter of multiple US Group I winner Astra.

Her second foal by Smart Missile, named Play That Song, debuted last week when midfield at Sandown while her third, by Snitzel was entered for next week's Inglis Easter Yearling Sale but has been withdrawn.

She has a Smart Missile weanling but missed when sent back to Snitzel last season.

Champion sire Fastnet Rock also featured on the program with bargain purchase Ilitshe taking out the Group III Caradoc Gold Cup at Turffontein.

The Jurgen Van Heerden trained gelding won the 2800 metre staying test by three-quarters of a length and has now won six races from 23 starts with this victory his second Black Type success.

A bargain $15,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Colm Santry Bloodstock from the Erinvale Thoroughbreds draft, Ilitshe is a half-brother to dual Group I winner Morshdi, the Champion 3YO of Italy and Germany in 2001.

He is the sixth winner from the now retired Reem Albaraari (IRE), a daughter of champion sprinter Habibti.
