Quality Mare in Foal to The Best

Tara Madgwick - Thursday March 30
The $3million Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap has long been regarded as the finest 1600 metre event on the Australian racing calendar and a leading contender this year has a three-quarter sister to be offered in the Inglis Chairmans's Elite Breeding Prospects Sale on April 7.

EcuadorGai Waterhouse has won an amazing seven Doncaster Handicaps and this year she and co-trainer Adrian Bott have put their faith in high class High Chaparral (IRE) gelding Ecuador, whose earnings are a mere whisker away from $1million.

Group I placed at two of his last three starts, Ecuador (pictured Steve Hart ) tuned up with a barrier trial on March 22 and will be cherry ripe as he bids to give Waterhouse another victory in this iconic turf mile.

Win, lose or draw, Ecuador is an established Group I performer as is his full sister Pondarosa Miss, winner of the Group I AuRC Easter Handicap (1600m) in New Zealand.

This dynamic brother and sister duo are among four winners from Bak Da Princess, an unraced full sister to Group II winner Bak Da Chief.

Rothwell Park will offer Recurring Dream (NZ), an unraced sibling to Pondarosa Miss and Ecuador at the Chairman's Sale next Friday as Lot 75.

Recurring Dream is by Group I winner and sire Rip Van Winkle (IRE), who is a grand-son of Sadler's Wells, making her very closely related to Pondarosa Miss and Ecuador, who are both sired by Sadler's Wells Epsom Derby winning son High Chaparral.

She showed good ability on the track and won a trial impressively at Randwick, but was subsequently injured and retired due to her impressive pedigree and outstanding physical quality.

It's a classy, commercial family that keeps delivering and the yearling full sister to Recurring Dream made $160,000 at the 2017 NZB Premier Yearling Sale for Curraghmore Stud when snapped up by Go Racing.

I Am InvincibleRising five, with a long stud career ahead of her, Recurring Dream has been given the best chance of early success as she will be offered in foal to I Am Invincible on a September service date.

Yarraman Park's red hot sire I Am Invincible has soared to new heights this year with over 100 winners this season generating some $8.7 million in prizemoney.

His eight stakes-winners are headed by Group I winner I am a Star, an acceptor for the Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap and Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Houtzen, not to mention Group I place-getters and stakes-winners Voodoo Lad, Hellbent and Invincible Gem.

I Am Invincible has the astonishing seasonal winner to runner strike rate of 57% and has four runners on the opening day of The Championships at Randwick this Saturday.

I Am Invincible topped the 2017 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale with a colt from Soorena fetching $1.4 million and there is every indication more million dollar yearlings will follow next week for him at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

A mare in foal to I Am Invincible is a valuable commodity indeed!
