Both will stand at Newgate Farm in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

"They both retire sound as elite sprinting colts," Newgate director of stallions and sales, Bruce Slade, said.

"Neither had anything more to prove on the track and both have done enough to suggest they have the right profiles to develop into champion sires.

"We look forward to announcing fees for both horses at Easter."

A son of Not A Single Doubt, Extreme Choice won four of his eight races and earned $1,736,250, highlighted by his wins in the Group I Blue Diamond Stakes at two and the Moir Stakes at weight-for-age last year. At his last start he was beaten less than three lengths when sixth behind Redkirk Warrior in the Group I Newmarket Handicap.

Flying Artie finished runner-up to Extreme Choice in the Blue Diamond Stakes before finishing third to Capitalist in the Group I Golden Slipper Stakes. Last season at three Flying Artie won the Group III Blue Sapphire Stakes at Caulfield then the Group I Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington defeating Astern and Star Turn.

Extreme Choice and Flying Artie were trained at Caulfield by Mick Price.

"It has been a privilege to train two colts as genuinely exceptional as Extreme Choice and Flying Artie," Price said.

"They will be missed in the stable, however, they retire to stud as colts that have the potential to make a major impact on the Australian breeding industry."
