Blue-blooded
three year-old Di Mazzio made a winning debut at Turffontein in South Africa on
Thursday providing a nice update for his half-brother to be offered at the
Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
Trained by Louis Goosen, Di Mazzio was easy in the market, but still proved too
strong in taking the 1160 metre maiden by a long neck.
A $240,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Milburn Creek draft, Di Mazzio was
bred by Makybe and is a half-brother by Bernardini (USA) to Group I winner
Amicus and stakes-placed Il Cavallo.
He is the fourth winner from stakes-placed Gold Chant, a half-sister to
Champion Sprinter and successful sire Starspangledbanner from the family of
champions Elvstroem and Haradasun.
Milburn Creek will offer the current yearling from Gold Chant, a colt by
Snitzel, at the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale as Lot 162.
