A Calendar of Success for Coolmore Graduates

Media Release - Tuesday March 14
High-class pair Tulip (Pierro) and Dawn Wall (Fastnet Rock) both claimed group race wins over the weekend to continue the staggering run of success being enjoyed by graduates of the Coolmore Australia nursery at Jerry's Plains in the Hunter Valley.

Tulip returns to scaleThere has been a group winning graduate of that farm in Sydney or Melbourne for each of the last six weekends.

"They were each very significant wins in their own way," said Coolmore Australia Bloodstock Sales Manager Shane McGrath.

" Dawn Wall , who was sold through our Easter draft a couple of years ago, has a world-class pedigree, so for her to secure a group win at this early stage of her career multiplies her value. She has been patiently managed by the Waller team, but is thriving on her racing and looks set to be very competitive in the Gr.1 Vinery Stud Stakes in a couple of weeks and possibly the Gr.1 ATC Oaks after that" said McGrath of the Niarchos Family-owned filly who took out the Gr.3 Kembla Grange Classic in very good style on Friday.

" Tulip  (pictured Steve Hart) was all class in winning the Gr.3 Magic Night Stakes and now ranks as a leading fancy for the Gr.1 Golden Slipper on Saturday, where she will have to take on fellow Coolmore graduates Catchy (Fastnet Rock) and Formality (Fastnet Rock)," noted McGrath.

"Coolmore will offer her full-brother at the Easter Sales, so the big update to the pedigree is a timely one. Her win vindicates the opinions of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig who have long maintained that she is a special filly. Pierro is now the leading first season sire in Australia and there is the promise of a lot more to come from him and his progeny."

Coolmore Australia have a draft of 32 yearlings catalogued for the upcoming Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, click here to see them.
