Cool Pointer for MM Adelaide

Media Release - Sunday March 12
This week's Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale received another boost when progressive galloper Falcool scored a resounding win in the listed Incognitus Stakes at Flemington.

Falcool - Grant CourtneyA $60,000 graduate of the sale himself, Falcool provided a timely update for his Casino Prince half sister who will go under the hammer on Monday night during Day One of the Morphettville auction.

The filly, catalogued as lot 23, is being prepared by Squillani Park, the same operation who presented and sold Falcool to trainer Aaron Purcell for $60,000.

At just his seventh race start the son of Falvelon proved much too good for his rivals, cruising home to beat Ken's Dream by a length and a quarter.

It is the third win already for the exciting three-year-old and race rider Hugh Bowman said the win was no fluke.

"He won and he won well," Bowman said. "There's more wins in store for him."

Purcell said Falcool had excellent form on all tracks and expected him to be hard to beat today.

Golden Slipper dreams for quality juvenile Single Bullet received a boost when he downed the favourite Ducimus to win the Group Three Todman Stakes.

Always held in high regard by trainer Gary Portelli, Single Bullet will join stablemate She Will Reign in the world's richest juvenile race next week.

"Early on I couldn't really split them," Portelli said. "She has gone out and done it and this bloke is the big improver."

"I'm happy to find out next week," he added.

Portelli purchased the son of Not a Single Doubt for $150,000 at last year's Magic Millions National Yearling Sale from the draft of Corumbene Stud.

Quality filly Foxplay turned in one of the performances of the day at Rosehill when she rattled home to win the Phar Lap Stakes.

Seemingly in a hopeless position near the tail of the field on straightening and then striking trouble in the straight, it appeared the daughter of Foxwedge would be left to ponder what might have been.

Rider Kerrin McEvoy said he couldn't have been more impressed with the performance of the filly to motor home between runners and win as the warm favourite.

In beating the boys in the three-year-old feature the filly was able to send her earnings past $500,000 for her all female syndicate.

A $160,000 Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase from Newgate Farm, Foxplay carries the colours of Star Thoroughbreds - she being another group winner syndicated by Denise Martin.

Exciting youngster Sircconi could head to Sydney for a start in the Championships after a strong on speed win in today's Group Two VRC Sires' Produce Stakes at Flemington.

A $25,000 National Weanling Sale purchase bred in Queensland and sold by Lyndhurst Stud Farm, Sircconi made history in winning, Linda Meech the first female jockey to win the juvenile feature.

Trainer Peter Morgan said the two-year-old by Nicconi could head to Sydney now to contest the ATC Sires' Produce Stakes at Group One level.

"I think he will make a 2000 metre horse," Morgan said of Sircconi.
