Three
Bridges Thoroughbreds foundation sire Stryker continued his strong start to the
month of March when posting his fifth winner in eight days when Greviste cast
off maiden status at Ballarat on Wednesday.
Resuming from a spell, the Mitchell Freedman trained three year-old gelding fought
hard to the line to win by a short neck in the 1200 metre maiden with four lengths
back to the third horse.
It was his first win in three starts following two inconclusive fifth placings
in his first preparation last year.
A $36,000 Inglis Premier Session II purchase for Mitchell Freedman from the
Three Bridges draft, Greviste is the third winner for Chartilla, a half-sister
to stakes-winner Galvanized, the dam of star Tasmanian stakes-winning filly Hot
Dipped.
A proven source of winners and stakes-winners as the sire Group I New Zealand
Derby winner Rangipo, Stryker has had yearlings sell for up to $140,000 this
year.
