Rockstar Colt Delivers on His Potential

Media Release - Monday March 6
Ever since he was born on August 15th 2013, there was something special about a So You Think colt out of Pontiana.

so You Think colt from Pontiana - now InferenceOn Saturday at Randwick that colt, Inference , who inherited the rockstar good looks for which his sire is famous, duly delivered the Group I win that his physique has always promised.

" Inference was a standout foal from the day he was born," said Coolmore Bloodstock Sales Manager Shane McGrath.

"We all became particularly familiar with him because he was the focal point of our promotion of the first So You Think foals. He had all the attributes of a good horse right from the start given he was athletic with great movement and a sober temperament. Anybody who ever had anything to do with him just loved him, particularly the guys that broke him in at Coolmore. Amazingly, he was in the same batch of breakers at Coolmore as Comin' Through (Fastnet Rock) who finished third in the Guineas, so it's fantastic to see the two of them go on to become such high-class racehorses.

"The farm graduates that are now three year-olds look to be very strong crop, with 21 black-type performers amongst them already. As well as the aforementioned pair, there is the likes of Omei Sword (High Chaparral), Heroic Valour (Fastnet Rock), Anaheim (Fastnet Rock) and Smart As You Think (So You Think), while there are also any number of progressive sorts that look up to stakes company including Dawn Wall (Fastnet Rock) and I Thought So (So You Think), as well as Mr Sneaky (High Chaparral) and Theanswermyfriend (High Chaparral) who quinella'd a strong race at Flemington on Saturday," said McGrath.

"It also looks set to be a big few weeks for the two year-old graduates with Catchy (Fastnet Rock) and Formality (Fastnet Rock) heading towards the Slipper, while Tulip (Pierro) and Justice Glory (Fastnet Rock) both have engagements in group races this weekend also," concluded McGrath.

* Inference is one of 48 Group I winning graduates of Coolmore Australia. He joins a list that includes Winx , Catchy , Vancouver , Pride Of Dubai , Heroic Valour , Awesome Rock , Japonisme , Mac de Lago , Rangipo , Magicool and Smokin' Joey as Group I winning graduates of Coolmore Australia in recent years.

Coolmore Australia has 32 yearlings catalogued for the upcoming Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. They include progeny of or siblings to Tulip, Preferment, Sharp Susan, Fiveandahalfstar, Casquets, Shania Dane, Rivo Boy, Steps In Time, Lumosty, Jacquinot Bay, Galizani and Gliding amongst others.
