A Group II winner, a Listed placegetter, a metropolitan winner and a provincial success thrown in for good measure - such was a memorable Saturday for Ridgeview Park Stud's underrated stallion Onemorenomore.
Having just her third start, two-year-old One More Honey showed both strength and heart in trying conditions at Randwick, finding the line in determined fashion to claim black type success in the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes.
A debut winner at Randwick in December, the John Thompson trained filly was then a close up fifth in Teaspoon's Widden Stakes before appreciating the step up to 1200m on Saturday.
"She is a real professional who just does everything right," enthused jockey Jay Ford, "she is so genuine and game."
John Thompson agreed - "she is one of those fillies who gives you 110% and really tries... she gives you everything she has got in everything she does."
A candidate for further black type success at two - with the Golden Slipper still a possibility - One More Honey (pictured Steve Hart ) is out of the imported Distorted Humor mare One Funny Honey whose eighth dam Lady Kells is Onemorenomore's fifth dam.
Illustrating the versatility of the Onemorenomore breed, Explosive One charged home from midfield to win over 2000m at Doomben - in doing so recording his second win in a row.
Up in class having lead throughout to win by a dominant 6 1/2 lengths at Lismore, the Matthew Dunn trained five-year-old has won five of 23 and looks to have a bright future over middle distances.
A stakes winner last spring, Onemorenomore's son Tonto looks close to another black type success having run a gutsy second in Saturday's Listed Detonator Stakes at Ascot.
Having just his second run back from a break he is bound to derive great benefit from the run and should soon enhance on his already impressive record of seven wins from 35 starts.
Meanwhile at Yarra Valley Solid Rod saluted over 1950m and it was a deserved victory on the back of consistent form.
Onemorenomore has been in great form since relocating in Victoria and Ridgeview's Phil and Fiona Sloane could not be happier.
"He is doing a terrific job, siring horses who can come up early and go right on with it as they mature."
The winner of the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (a race also won by the likes of Pierro, Dance Hero, Burst, Triscay, Bounding Away and Red Anchor) Onemorenomore has been represented by 107 winners from just 199 starters and with a good number of 3Y0s in work there is much more to come!
Last spring serving mares by the likes of Exceed And Excel, Danehill Dancer, More Than Ready, Encosta de Lago, Mr Prospector, Miswaki, Canny Lad, Testa Rossa and Danehill, Onemorenomore is described by the Sloanes as a horse who "is a delight to have around."
"With his progeny proving so tough and consistent he is an ideal VOBIS horse and a great prospect for the owner/breeder."
