Darby Celebrate Win for Star Filly

Darby Racing have high hopes for Golden Slipper glory with their star two year-old She Will Reign, but also have cause for optimism about their Star Witness filly Star Sensation who saluted at Hawkesbury on Tuesday for the Mark Newnham stable.

Star Sensation as a yearlingBeaten a short head on debut at Kembla last month, Star Sensation was quick to atone for that narrow loss, surging home to win the 1000 metre juvenile maiden by a length.

She holds an entry for the Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes at The Championships in April.

A $20,000 Inglis Scone Yearling purchase for Darby Bloodstock from the Widden Stud draft, Star Sensation is the first winner for Stimulass, an unraced Dash for Cash daughter of stakes-winner Giftenary.

Star Sensation continues the winning roll for Star Witness, who has had 16 winners this month including one each in Hong Kong and Singapore as well as stakes-winners Fuhryk and Global Glamour.
