Written Tycoon's Super Cash Books Her Ticket to the Newmarket

Mark Smith - Saturday February 11

The sixth pick in the 7-horse Group II Schweppes Rubiton Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday, Super Cash won in the manner of a short-priced favourite.

Giving Katelyn Mallyon back to back wins in the race after Heatherly last year, Super Cash defeated the 3yo filly I Am A Star by one and a quarter lengths with Chautauqua three-quarter of a length back in third. (photo Grant Courtney).

"She began well, she's known for missing the start, so I was really happy when she began as well as she did," Mallyon said.

"I had a beautiful bunny with Wild Rain in the front and she put them away quickly when I let her go."

Winning trainer Andrew Noblett said it was about time the 4yo daughter of Written Tycoon had a change of luck.

"It's a great thrill, she had no luck in the spring," Noblett said.

"To come back in the autumn and do that first up in what looked a really hot race. Coming into the race I thought she may be a bit out of her depth but the horse is going fantastic at home and it's just a matter of whether she measured up.

"She'll probably get a run in the (Group I) Newmarket now and that's where we will be heading.

Retained to race by her breeders, Super Cash advances her overall record to 4 wins, 1 second and 4 thirds from 14 starts with earnings of $359,050.

She is the best of three winners from Dash for Cash mare Super Bucks, a $40,000 yearling that won three of her 12 starts, and a daughter of stakes-placed import Anemone Garden (IRE).

Super Bucks visited Written Tycoon in her first three seasons and the third foal, the 3yo gelding Fast Tycoon broke his maiden at Sandown in December.

Super Bucks has a 2yo filly and a yearling colt by Hussonet (USA) and was covered again by Written Tycoon.
