Manhattan Rain Relocating to Blue Gum Farm

Tara Madgwick - Friday February 3
Making way for new sire talent at Arrowfield Stud in Maurice (Jpn) and Shalaa (IRE), it has been announced today that Manhattan Rain is set to pack his bags and head south to Victoria where he will relocate at Blue Gum Farm.

Manhattan RainA half-brother by Encosta de Lago to Arrowfield's champion sire Redoute's Choice, Manhattan Rain has not quite lived up to the deeds of his famous sibling, but has nevertheless put together a tidy record at stud.

He recently sired his first Group I winner when Australian bred four year-old Whisky Baron took out the Group I Sun Met Celebrated With Mumm in South Africa and also has this season's brilliant two year-old She Will Reign flying his flag as well as last season's star two year-old Scarlet Rain, who returned to the winner's circle at Rosehill last Saturday.

Manhattan Rain has sired 9 stakes-winners in total and has a respectable 5.6% stakes-winners to runners so will be an asset at Blue Gum Farm for Victorian breeders.

Manhattan Rain has struggled for support in the highly competitive market of the Hunter Valley in the last few seasons covering just 32 mares last year and 51 and 58 in the previous two years.

His service fee for 2017 remains at $16,500.
