The 3-year-old progeny of Dream Ahead (USA) are making a habit of scoring an impressive win on their racecourse debut as seen once again at yesterday's Taree meeting.
The Kris Lees-trained Dangerous Behavior faced the starter for the first time in her career on
Tuesday's mid-North Coast program and encountered little difficulty in landing
the 1000m maiden event as a heavily backed
$1.70 favourite.
Always in contention during the running of the 10-horse affair,
Dangerous Behavior surged
clear of her rivals over the closing stages to record a clear-cut one-length
victory. A chestnut filly bred by the Cobcroft family and hailing from one of
their most prolific female lines, Dangerous Behavior emulated a handful of
fellow members from Dream Ahead's first domestic foal crop to salute as
3-year-olds at the first time of asking.
In fact, the 2016/17 season has witnessed at least five Dream Ahead 3-year-olds scoring on debut — beginning with Ken's Dream's nine-length winning romp at Echuca last August. Since such time, the likes of Awaken (Bunbury-November),Time Out of Mind (Gosford-December), Rose Ahead (Werribee-January) and now Dangerous Behavior have all proceeded to open-up their winning account under the very same circumstances.

winners for Dream Ahead on the local front from just 45 runners to date. These
also include the likes of Dreams Aplenty, Dream First, Beyond the Dream, Happy
Event, Generalissimo etc — all high-profile performers for the Emirates Park's
dual hemisphere serving stallion during his first full year of representation.
Next week's renewal of the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale witnesses the most significant draft of Dream Ahead progeny entered for any one auction to be staged in 2017.
No fewer than 18 members of the stallion's third domestic crop can be found in a catalogue consisting of 600 Lots. The sizeable contingent includes Lot 112, a bay or brown filly from the very same celebrated Cobcroft female family as Dangerous Behavior to be presented by Kanangra Stud, Scone.
