gavelhouse.com New Zealand catalogue online

Media Release - Thursday January 19
The most recent offering from gavelhouse New Zealand is online with 11 Lots up for purchase.

The bulk of the catalogue is comprised of value broodmare propositions that buyers can store away for the breeding season later this year.

Champion sire and broodmare sire O'Reilly is represented by a mare at Lot 9 in Mayday Jones. She is a winner of two races over the middle distances and has produced two to race with both being winners of multiple races. Adding further appeal, she is a full sister to Group-performer Black Muscat and is in foal to Group One sire Zed.

Mayday Jones is on the market already as are the two other Lots offered by Guy Smith who is selling up to get out of racing. Smith also has a yearling colt by Group One sire Ekraar at Lot 1 who he specifically bred to be a three-quarter in blood to the outstanding race mare Rising Romance, winner of the Gr.1 Australian Oaks, runner up in Admire Rakti's Caulfield Cup and winner of over A$2.2 million in prize-money. This colt met his reserve at NZ$1,000.

Having sold recently retired mare Affinee successfully for NZ$25,000 to an Australian buyer in the last gavelhouse.com NZ auction, Te Akau Racing have another talented yet retired race mare in Love Actually on offer this week. At Lot 7, Love Actually is a winning daughter of Swiss Ace and is from the Danehill Dancer mare Just Platonic, a daughter of Group Three winner It's Platonic.

Platinum MonarchPalmerston North-based trainer Lisa Latta has also supported the sale, offering a Fastnet Rock mare in Platinum Monarch

Having met her reserve at NZ$2,000 she will be sold come the close of auction on Monday night and represents great value being in full work with the capacity to recoup her purchase price before adding value to a broodmare band.

Final bids will be taken on Lots in the sale from 7pm (NZ time) this Monday 23 January.
Entries for the next gavelhouse.com Australia auction are also due on Monday 23 January at 7pm (AEDT).

Having successfully sold on the site twice since its introduction to the Australian market champion trainer Chris Waller already has horses locked in for the next sale ensuring plenty of interest will be generated in the upcoming catalogue set to go live at 5pm (AEDT) on Tuesday 24 January and close from 7pm AEDT on 30 January.
