Shamexpress Yearlings Impress at MM

Media Release - Tuesday January 17

The first yearlings to be offered for sale by Windsor Park's exciting Freshman sire ShamExpress (O'Reilly) debuted in the sale ring on the Gold Coast last week.

The Australian Group I winner was represented by three yearlings at the Magic Millions sale all of whom sold for an average of $156,666.

Top seller for ShamExpress was Lot 688, a daughter of the dual-winning Thorn Park racemare Burlesque.

The powerfully made half sister to Group winning sprinter Soubrettes attracted spirited bidding before being knocked down to dual Derby-winning trainer Trent Busuttin who is now based with his partner Natalie Young at Cranbourne in Victoria.

Another filly offered from the first crop of Gr.1 Newmarket winner ShamExpress was Lot 268, the second foal of the young Fastnet Rock mare New Age Rocka, a dual winning half sister to Gr.1 AJC Flight Stakes winner Danglissa.

The attractive New Age Rocka filly was purchased by Champion Thoroughbreds supremo Jason Abrahams for $130,000.

Freshman sire ShamExpress will be further represented at the New Zealand Bloodstock yearling sales series at Karaka commencing January 30th where he has 38 yearlings catalogued for sale including 19 yearlings in the Premier Session.
