South African Group Two Winner for Manhattan Rain

Manhattan Rain not only is the sire of arguably the best two year-old we've seen to date this season in She Will Reign, but also a new stakes-winner in South Africa with four year-old gelding Whisky Baron taking out the Group II Glorious Goodwood Peninsula Handicap at Kenilworth on Saturday.

Already Group III placed twice, Whisky Baron has the overall record of five wins and six placings from 12 runs.

A modest $50,000 Inglis Easter purchase for C Roscoe/ J Ramsden from the Arrowfield Stud draft, Whisky Baron is the lone Black Type horse among four winners from Tazkara (Fr), who Studbook report has gone back to France after producing five foals in Australia.

Whisky Baron is the ninth stakes-winner for Manhattan Rain, who has three entries for Magic Millions and five for Inglis Classic.
