A brilliant
four length debut victory at Doomben on Christmas Eve has two year-old I Am
Invincible filly Houtzen pressing for a start in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic
next month.
Prepared by Toby Edmonds, she led throughout from barrier two for Jeff Lloyd
and was in a class of her own to the line, clocking 59.43 seconds for the 1050
metres.
She broke the class record and only just missed the course record, so
connections will now seek to get her into the big Magic Millions race on
January 14.
Houtzen
has now won $40,200 making her equal 17th on the order of entry to make the
field.
"If we have to run again to get some more prize money so be it,"
trainer Toby Edmonds, who has a big opinion of Houtzen.
"She was hot before the race and wears ear muffs but that is her. Jeff
(jockey Lloyd) knew he was on the best horse and just let her run in the
lead."
A $105,000 Magic Millions purchase for her trainer from the Yarraman Park
draft, Houtzen is the first winner from Reset mare Set to Unleash, whose dam is
a half-sister to globe trotting Champion 3YO Filly Sun Classique.
Yarraman Park will present another stunning draft for the 2017 Magic Millions featuring
25 lots, 12 of them by I Am Invincible. Click
