Star
Tasmanian galloper Admiral went on his winning way at Launceston on Wednesday
taking out the Listed Tasmanian Stakes.
The talented Mossman gelding was the dominant two and three year-old in
Tasmania before blossoming further last season to cut a swathe through the
Tasmanian Summer Carnival winning four consecutive races starting with the
Conquering Stakes.
Prepared by Barry Campbell, Admiral looks to be on track to repeat that success
carrying 59 kg to a length victory in the 1600 metre feature as favourite.
He has the impressive record of 15 wins and five placings from 25 starts with
prizemoney of topping $734,000.
Retained to race by his breeders, Admiral runs for a big group of friends
including long time stable client Bruno Calabro and Star Thoroughbreds
principal Denise Martin.
He is the first winner for Campbell's former classy mare Reunification, who won
12 races and over $190,000 in prizemoney with numerous Black Type placings on
her resume.
Sadly for the owners, Reunification died in 2014 and her last foal is Admiral.
