Stakes-placed mare Vive La Difference is the highlight of the latest Gavelhouse New Zealand auction.

Vive Le DifferenceExtended to run over an extra two days to cater for the festive season, the auction will close at 7pm (NZ time) on Wednesday 28 December.

Vive la Difference is offered to dissolve a partnership with the Te Akau Racing mare an exciting broodmare proposition. A daughter of Choisir, she has won on three occasions over distances from 1200m to 1800m and garnered black-type when running second to Hong Kong Horse of the Year Werther in the Group Two Championship Stakes. Her dam is the winning Peintre Celebre mare L'Artiste who has produced three to race with The Justice League (I Am Invincible) a Group Two winner and Proserpina (Testa Rossa) a winner in Australia.

Breeders looking for well-related mares to store for next year are spoilt for choice in the catalogue with Rich Hill Stud offering, Mystic Flight, a Flying Spur mare in foal to their young sire Jimmy Choux while Pencarrow Stud have Secret Moments, a mare from a big international family offered in foal with an early service to Burgundy. Also a Pencarrow Stud product, the royally-bred son of Redoute's Choice stands at Cambridge Stud with his first crop already unearthing two pre-Christmas winners.

Matamata-based Wexford Stables have an Encosta de Lago daughter from stakes-winner The Chunkster offered unreserved to dissolve a partnership. The lightly-tried mare Delta de Lago is a racing and breeding proposition and of the youngstock on offer two yearlings from the last crop of O'Reilly hold particular appeal.

Offered on account of Brighthill Farm they are for sale as the owner is cutting back on numbers and represent two quality families with the colt at Lot 1 from the family of Gr.1 Golden Slipper winners Merlene and Capitalist. The O'Reilly filly at Lot 2 is from a Zabeel mare and the family of Gr.1 SAJC Oaks winner Tully Thunder and Gr.1 VRC Oaks runner up Thunder Lady.
