Winning Return for Fastnet Blueblood

Tara Madgwick - Saturday December 17
Gelded before this preparation, blue blooded Fastnet Rock four year-old Deploy made a stylish return to racing at Canterbury on Friday night to score a dominant win in the Torryburn Stud colours providing a timely update for his Magic Millions bound half-brother.

Deploy as a yearlingPrepared by Gerald Ryan, Deploy had good form around Group and stakes winners last season at three such as Le Romain, Southern Legend and Sooboog, so always looked to have a class edge on his rivals in the Benchmark 72 event over 1100 metres.

He ploughed through the heavy conditions to win by a length and a quarter as favourite and looks set for a fruitful campaign.

A $450,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Torryburn Stud draft, Deploy runs for a syndicate that includes his breeder as well as Segenhoe Thoroughbreds and Stallion Racing.

With two wins and five placings from eight starts, Deploy has always been consistent and could easily step up to stakes level next year.

He is one of three winners from four foals to race from Group III winning Red Ransom (USA) mare Crimson Reign.

Torryburn Stud will offer the current yearling from Crimson Reign, a colt by Sebring as Lot 740 at the Magic Millions Yearling sale.

A great favourite at Torryburn Stud, Crimson Reign produced a lovely colt by Smart Missile this spring.
