Magic
Millions sale-topper Chauffeur was not the only impressive two year-old winner
on Saturday in New South Wales with the Darby Racing owned filly She Will Reign
running up to her impressive trial form with a facile debut victory at Kembla.
Featured in a Juvenile Trial Watch story on Breednet when she won her only
previous trial at Rosehill on November 22 by five lengths, the Gary Portelli
trained filly was a hot favourite for the 1000 metre juvenile maiden.
The daughter of Manhattan Rain did everything right and ran right away from her rivals for Deanne Panya to
win by some eight lengths in a blistering 56.04 seconds, just a whisker outside the
course record.
She Will Reign was purchased by Darby Racing for just $20,000 from the Ambergate
Farm draft at Inglis Classic and is the first foal of metro winning Charge
Forward mare Courgette, who was also raced by a Darby Racing syndicate.
Darby have enjoyed much success with their star filly and $2.1 million earner
Yankee Rose, bought from Inglis Classic for just $10,000 in 2015, so will no
doubt be hoping She Will Reign can follow in her footsteps.
