Offered
in the same Newgate Farm draft at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling
Sale as the previous Canterbury winner Northwest Passage, three year-old
Snitzel filly Lubiton won her second race with a blazing three and a half-length
victory.
Trained by Bjorn Baker for Steve and Louise Gillard, Lubiton had been placed at
her three previous runs since resuming from a spell and was overdue to break
through.
A $250,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Newgate Farm draft, Lubiton was a
successful pinhook for Newgate Farm, who snapped up the filly for $150,000 at
the 2014 Inglis Australian Select Weanling Sale from the Bell View Park draft.
Bred by Bell View Park in partnership, Lubiton is the first foal of unraced
Zabeel mare Rosa Stellata, a Zabeel daughter of Group I winner Camino Rose.
Rosa Stellata was sold in their dispersal earlier this year for $90,000 and her
yearling filly by Foxwedge will be offered at Inglis Classic by Bhima
Thoroughbreds as Lot 175.
