The
juvenile maiden at Wyong on Wednesday was expected to be an easy target for the
Waterhouse and Bott stable runner Maddonica, but Sebring Express had other
ideas.
The Gary Portelli trained filly was third on debut at Kembla last month and
took good improvement from that outing to sit three wide and then power away
from the favourite in the straight.
A $60,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Flinders Park Stud draft for Elite
Thoroughbreds, Sebring Express is eligible for the upcoming rich Inglis
incentive races.
She is the third winner for Miss Exxi, a half-sister by Exceed and Excel to
Group I winner Carnegie Express and grand-daughter of AJC Oaks winner Our
Sophia.
