Media Release - Tuesday December 6

Between Saturday 26 November to Saturday 3 December, eight winners by Reward For Effort saluted the judge for the first time.

This brings his tally for the season to 28 individual winners and takes him into the top 40 on the general sires list for individual winners.

Reward for EffortReward for Effort  heads all Australian third-season stallions in that category from Rothesay (25) and Star Witness (23). He is certainly doing the job with only his third crop getting to the track this year, with Big Effort and Vikings Reward leading the charge with very impressive wins in Adelaide

What a debut for  Vikings Reward! He  starts from barrier 10, comes from last on the turn and beats them by 2 lengths in very good time

. Big Effort  had to race with one hind shoe and the rest, as they say, is history. At his first start since June, the powerful four-year-old dominated his rivals in the 1050m race, pressing forward from his wide draw to race outside leader The Castle Kat before bursting clear to win by 1-3/4 lengths.

Recently Reward For Effort added another significant milestone to his impressive CV.

Jumbo Luck  became Reward For Effort's first Hong Kong winner when scoring a tough win on debut at Sha Tin for trainer Francis Lui and jockey Brent Prebble.

The son of Reward For Effort jumped nicely from barrier 5 before settling fourth and ultimately barging his way through the field, showing a very good turn of foot to win by 1/2 length. Reward For Effort has now had winners in Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and South Africa.
