Spring action heads to Ballarat this Saturday where a great ten race programme is highlighted by the running of the $300,000 Listed Ballarat Cup.
Ballarat was of course home to last year's Melbourne Cup
hero Prince Of Penzance who recorded his second victory at the track under the
guidance of Michelle Payne back in April 2013.
"He has still got a bit to learn," Payne told the horse's happy owners that day, "but he is a really nice horse."
"We are going to have some fun with this horse!" Darren Weir wisely predicted that same day.
The story of his journey to Melbourne Cup success has been immortalized in "Prince Of Penzance - The Extraordinary 2015 Melbourne Cup," the book by racing writer Kristen Manning launched recently.
