Proven Vendors Present Quality at NZB Ready to Run

Media Release - Friday November 4

The 2016 NZB Ready to run Sale  will feature the quality drafts of 62 proven and highly skilled vendors.

NZB's Ready to Run Sale has established itself as the leading Sale of its kind in Australasia through proven racetrack results. Sale graduates have celebrated wins in 71 stakes races in six countries over the last three seasons, including four Group 1 wins last season. No other sale of this kind has produced a Group 1 winner in that time.

The consistent success of the Sale is in large part down to the expert vendors, with the kiwi consignors' specialisation in the preparation of juveniles a key factor to their early education.

Last year's leading vendor was Jeremy Whale's Diamond Lodge. The 2015 Diamond Lodge draft sold 18 horses for an aggregate of $2.548 million.

Diamond Lodge's draft has swelled to 35 quality two-year-olds this year including:

· Lot 103, a half-brother by Iffraaj to the Group 1 winner Captivate (Stravinsky)

· Lot 196, a colt by Fastnet Rock out of the Group 2 winner Everswindell (Align)

· Lot 444, a half-brother by Snitzel to the Group 2 winner Fursa (Hard Spun).

Another perennial star vendor is Mark and Shelly Treweek's Lyndhurst Farm, who were leading vendors from 2007 to 2012 and again in 2014. Graduates from Lyndhurst Farm include Albany Reunion (Fastnet Rock), Atlante (Fastnet Rock) and Glorious Days (Hussonet), all Group 1 winners in recent seasons.

Lyndhurst Farm will offer a draft of 26 two-year-olds at this year's Sale including:

· Lot 148, a colt by Sebring out of the Group 3 winner Crafty Irna (Starcraft)

· Lot 279, a filly by Animal Kingdom out of the stakes winner and Group 1-placed Johan's Toy (Johan Cruyff). The filly is a half-sister to the Group 2 winner Toydini (Bernardini)

· Lot 477, a colt by Savabeel out of the Group 1 winner Sharvasti (Montjeu)

The vendor of Group 1 winning Sale graduate and two-time New Zealand Horse of the Year Mongolian Khan (Holy Roman Emperor), Regal Farm sold the young colt to Mr Lang Lin's Rider Horse Group for $220,000.

This year Regal Farm will present a draft of 13 horses including:

· Lot 1, a full-brother to the Group 1-placed Huka Eagle (Swiss Ace)

· Lot 379, by Rip Van Winkle out of the Listed winner Mydiamond Bracelet (Al Akbar)

· Lot 452, by Rock 'n' Pop out of a three-quarter sister to the Group 1 winner Diademe (Savabeel)

George and Maryanne Simon of Mana Park are the breeders of Group 1 winning NZB Ready to Run Sale graduate Turn Me Loose (NZ) (Iffraaj). The son of Iffraaj was sold by Mana Park at the 2013 Sale.

Mana Park's 2016 draft is made up of 25 two-year-olds including:

· Lot 27, by Showcasing out of a Savabeel half-sister to Group 1 winner Perfect Fit (Elusive City)

· Lot 319, an Ocean Park half-brother to Group 1 winner Allez Wonder (Redoute's Choice)

· Lot 430, a Shocking colt out of the multiple Group 1 winner Prize Lady (Prized)

The largest draft will be presented by relative newcomers Kiltannon Stables, with Mark and Lorraine Forbes now in their third year of selling at the Ready to Run Sale.

After presenting drafts of 13 and 20 lots in their first two years, Kiltannon will offer a massive draft of 39 two-year-olds in 2016 including:

· Lot 26, a half-brother by Cape Blanco to Group 1 winner Veloce Bella (Volksraad)

· Lot 99, a half-brother by Thewayyouare to Group 1 winner Magic Cape (Magic Albert)

· Lot 427, a Cape Blanco colt out of a Redoute's Choice half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Serenade Rose (Stravinsky)
