A brilliant
juvenile stakes-winner at Doomben last December, three year-old I Am Invincible
colt Sundance made a sizzling return to the track at Doomben on Wednesday.
A $140,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newhaven Park draft for Blue Sky Bloodstock
and his trainer Toby Edmonds, Sundance failed to fire in two starts in May, but
showed he was right back to his best with this performance.
He led throughout and kept right on running to win the 1050 metre scamper by
three lengths, his second win from six starts with prizemoney topping $90,000.
Sundance has some interesting line breeding as he is the second winner for
Pacific Dreams, a half-sister by Desert Prince (IRE) to the dam of his sire I
Am Invincible.
He has a 3 x 2 double cross of Countess Pedrille, the full sister to Group II
winner Mamzelle Pedrille and also a close 3 x 3 double cross of champion sire
Green Desert.
Being Magic Millions eligible, connections will no doubt be looking forward to
the lucrative Brisbane summer racing and the $10 million Magic Millions race
day in January.
