Day One Breeze Ups for NZB Ready to Run

Day one of NZB Ready to Run Sale  Breeze Ups got off to a strong start today with 262 two-year-olds galloping down the straight at Te Rapa Racecourse.

The youngsters breezed up on a Dead 5 track with blustery conditions throughout the day.

Champion sire SavabeelLast year's leading vendor by average, Prima Park, had a successful Day 1 presenting 10 horses including the Savabeel colt, Lot 41, who breezed in a time of 10.82 seconds. Partnered with him was Lot 287, the Medaglia d'Oro colt who performed in a time of 10.84 seconds.

Early in the day a duo from Ascot Farm, comprised of the Showcasing colt, Lot 382, and Commands colt, Lot 438, breezed in a dead heat of 10.67 seconds.

A pair of O'Reilly's offspring, prepared by Ohaupo-based Riversley Park, breezed up smartly with the colt, Lot 190, clocking a time of 10.81 seconds and the gelding, Lot 108, breezing up in 10.84 seconds.

Ardsley Stud presented a pair that breezed in a similar time with Lot 505, by freshman sire Rock'n'Pop, stopping the clock at 10.70 seconds while Lot 350 by Master of Design clocked 10.71 seconds.

The fastest time of the day was recorded by Lot 462, the Rip Van Winkle colt prepared by Riverrock Farm, breezing in a smart 10.47 seconds.

Breeze Up footage will be available for viewing on the New Zealand Bloodstock website www.nzb.co.nz and on the free iPad application from Friday 21 October with DVD copies available by request from reception@nzb.co.nz.

This year's Breeze Ups will be aired lot-by-lot on Trackside TV in New Zealand and Racing.com in Australia with schedules yet to be announced.

More 'ready to run' action will take place tomorrow at Te Rapa Racecourse with a further 271 two-year-olds commencing from 9am. Tomorrow's Breeze Up schedule can be found here.
