Gold Coast 2yos Best Pinhooks So Far

Breednet - Tuesday October 11
The Star Witness x Ellamotion colt didn't only star as the top priced lot on day one of the Magic Millions Gold Coast 2yo's in Training Sale but was also one hell of a pinhook.

Star Witness x EllamotionHe was actually first presented for sale as a weanling in the Select Session of the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale last year in the draft of Alliance Thoroughbreds, selling to Phoenix Broodmare Farm for $45,000.

He was then offered at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale in March by Phoenix Broodmare Farm, selling for $52,500.

Some seven months later though and it's a whopping $262,500 profit as he went through the ring as part of the Aquis Farm draft, selling to Singapore's Constance Cheng for $315,000.

More than half of the two-year-olds offered on day one had previously been sold as yearlings with the next best pinhook result being Lot 142, a Captain Sonador colt out of Civita which made $150,000 to the bid of World Wide Bloodstock from the Victorian Bloodstock draft.

A $129,000 profit having previously made $21,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale back in January.

Below are the top 20 pinhook results from Day One. The sale continues on Wednesday.
