Makfi (GB) is serving his last book of mares at
Westbury Stud this season following his sale to Japan.
The Group One winner, who has produced classic winners from his first crops in
both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, has been purchased by the Japan
Bloodhorse Breeders' Association.
"Makfi has a number of exciting prospects sitting in the wings and there is no
doubt his presence in this part of the world will continue for many a year to
come after standing for six seasons at Westbury, providing breeders access to a
world-class son of the great Dubawi," Westbury Stud general manager Russell
Warwick said.
His leading New Zealand representatives include the Gr.1 Australian Oaks winner
Sofia Rosa and the Gr.1 Manawatu Sires' produce Stakes winner Marky Mark.
The first stallion purchased by Qatar Bloodstock, Makfi stood his last two
Northern Hemisphere season at Haras de Bonneval in France. - NZ RAcing Desk
