This
smart winner is the latest bred on a very successful nick.
A brilliant win by Unencumbered in the $200,000 Magic Millions Wyong 2YO
Classic RL on Thursday has again put the spotlight on his dam sire More Than
Ready (USA), who has made a big impact this year through his daughters siring
the dams of three Group I winners.
The grand-son of Halo is now the sire of the dam of 14 stakes-winners in total led
by Rebel Dane, Miracles of Life and Atlante, all three of them by Danehill
(USA) line sires as is another of his Australian stakes-winner in Impetuous,
while Unencumbered is by a Danzig line sire in Testa Rossa.
More Than Ready over Danehill line mares has always been seen as a very
successful nick, so to see it working in reverse is hardly rocket science, but reassuring
nevertheless coming into the yearling sales season.
There are 16 yearlings catalogued for Magic Millions from mares by More Than
Ready – click here to see them - and of those, nine are by Danehill line sires.
For those seeking a More Than Ready filly at Magic Millions, opportunities are
limited with just five youngsters catalogued after withdrawals and to see them
