First Foal for Dick Turpin

Mungrup Stud have reported the arrival of the first foal for their European dual Group I winning miler Dick Turpin (IRE).



Pictured here (image from Ann Croucher) with Tamara McGuinness is this gorgeous colt from Untouchable mare Sharufa, who traces back to Golden Slipper winner Storm Queen.

Dick Turpin stands at a fee of $8,800 and covered 88 mares in his first season at stud in 2012.

Winner of nine of his 20 starts, Dick Turpin was a Group II winner as a juvenile before training on to win the Group I Chantilly Prix Jean Prat at three and Milan Premio Vittorio di Capua at four.

He is the only son of Nureyev stallion Arakan at stud in Australia and shuttles from the English National Stud.
