2YO Racing at Flemington on Wednesday

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday September 24
Two year-old racing comes early to Victoria this year with a $50,000 juvenile scamper over 900 metres at Flemington on Wednesday featuring eight runners including one by Newgate Farm's first season sire Super One.

Super OneAn outstanding two year-old by I am Invincible, Super One has stamped his progeny very much in the mould of himself and his illustrious sire so it's no surprise to see his offspring coming to handquickly.

The Claire Cunningham trained Super One Susie stepped out in the first fillies heat at the official Sydney two year-old trials at Randwick on Monday and did everything right to track the leaders on the fence before finding the line strongly to finish a close second under Jason Collett.

"She bounced away well and we just wanted to take a sit on her as we just wanted to give her a good education and a good experience," Collett said.

"She was travelling well at the furlong and when she got room late, worked home well, so we're very happy with her."

A $120,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Willow Park draft for Dalziel Rcg/Peter Moody/Clare Cunningham, Super One Susie is on track for a start in the Group III ATC Gimcrack Stakes next month.

She is a half-sister to last season's Group III placed juvenile Hurricane Hawker being from Bernarsini, a placed half-sister to Group III winners Ulmann and Mahisara.

Sundus as a yearlingSuper One is set to have his first actual runner at Flemington on Wednesday when the Hayes Dabernig trained filly Sundus lines up in the first juvenile race of the season in Victoria carrying the famed blue and white colours of Sheikh Hamdan.

A $130,000 Magic Millions purchase for Shadwell from the Lime Country Thoroughbreds draft, Sundus has shown good ability in a recent Flemington jumpout and is the first foal of Concealment, a half-sister by Court Command to Hong Kong Classic Mile winner Self Flit.

Sundus is the most expensive runner in the race and you can click here for Sale Mail on the Flemington meeting.
