$1million The Shorts Filled with Everest Intrigue

Tara Madgwick - Monday September 11

Sunshine in Paris becomes the fifth confirmed starter in the Everest after Giga Kick, I Wish I Win, Mazu and Think About It, with the seven remaining slot holders sure to take a keen interest in the Group ATC II The Shorts (1100m) at Randwick this Saturday.

Among the nominations are some serious possible contenders in Lost and Running, Private Eye, Bella Nipotina, In Secret, Hawaii Five Oh, Overpass, Buenos Noches, Remarque, Ruthless Dame and Mazu, who is already assured of a slot.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained Ruthless Dame split Sunshine in Paris and In Secret by a head when second in the Surround Stakes last autumn and then won the Group I SAJC Sangster Stakes at 1200m, so with both of those mares likely to run in The Everest, you have to look hard at the daughter of Tavistock.

She trialled very well last week when finishing off hard for second to Hawaii Five Oh in a heat that also featured Mazu and highly rated three year-old colt King’s Gambit.
