New Stakes-Winner for Flying Artie

A new addition at Blue Gum Farm in Victoria this spring, Group I sire Flying Artie added a new stakes-winner to his tally in Perth on Saturday when progressive three year-old Vast Art won the Listed WATC Raconteur Stakes (1400m).

Trained by Darren McAuliffe, Vast Art has made a rapid rise through the grades this preparation and hit the line hard to win his first Black Type contest by a long neck taking his overall record to five wins from 10 starts with prizemoney topping $276,000.

Art was retained to race by Impressive Racing and partners and is the best of four winners from winning Fastnet Rock mare Fast Gal, a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Donna Dior.

He is the seventh stakes-winner for Flying Artie, who is enjoying a great season with star performers including Group I winning sprinter Artorius, Group II winning sprinter Asfoora, Singapore superstar Coin Toss and Kiwi stakes-winner Fierce Flight.

Flying Artie now calls Blue Gum Farm home!

Completely free of Danehill blood, Flying Artie is a prove outcross sire and is priced to please at $16,500.
